Scientific Degrees granted by the Department of Islamic History and Islamic Civilization: It Contributes in conjunction with the other departments of thefaculty to grant Bachelor's degree in Arabic language , literature andIslamic sciences for the faculty students It contributes with all of sections of Islamic philosophy and Islamic law to grant General Diploma in Islamic Studies It contributes with all departments of Islamic philosophy and Islamic law to grant Special Diploma in Islamic Studies It contributes to grant diploma of achieving Arabic manuscripts and papyri 

Mission

Department of Islamic History and Islamic Civilization is one of the seven departments in Dar Al Aulum faculty, and also a part of Islamic sciences that is a complementary of the educational process system with Arabic sciences altogether Department of Islamic History and Islamic Civilization has been established in conjunction with building the faculty under the name of (Arabic Studies College) by the republican decree No 239 of 1983,and then changed to the name of (Faculty of Dar-Aulum) through the republican decree No (470) of the year 1999 But the name of this section has not been changed by modifying the faculty name Those following persons have been dribbled to the section presidency Prof Dr Nadia Haniem Hassan Saqr By establishing the faculty in 1983 until 1992 Prof Dr Mahmoud Rizk Mahmoud from 1992 till 1998 Prof Dr Naema Ali Moursy 1998 to the current day The Department includes number of faculty Staff members and their assistants who are: Prof Dr Naema Ali Moursy Professor Faculty Dean and head of the department. partment was established in conjunction with Arabic Studies College, where was one of the seven sections, which represents the strength of the faculty at the same time .The department represents one of the main basics for completing the system of teaching Arabic as the department continues for 42 hours, teaching for the four years to get the second level in the number of hours in teaching at the faculty . The students in the Literary Studies Department study Arabic literature from its earliest days (ignorance) to the contemporary literary lesson Studying of literature in the faculty represents a picture that merges between heritage and contemporary time as the student examines the roots of Arabic Literature especially history and also the modern literary studies. -: Strength of the Section The department included initially in its inception, certain members from the Faculty of Arts to be represented as following Prof. Hassan Ismail Abd Ell Ghani, who moved from being an instructor in the Faculty of Arts, Minia University to the Faculty of Arabic Studies, Literary Studies Department And his representative is Mr. Mohamed Alam El Deen Shukairy who wasemployed as an assistant professor of the department under thechairmanship of Dr Abd el-Khaleq Abd el-Khaleq Faculty Dean and thedepartment head .Then the appointments revolved and also the number ofstaff members in the faculty increased over the years to achieve thecurrent number of five professors two assistant professors twoprofessors and three instructors And then the department Presidency was assumed gradually over the years since 1983 until today 2010 .
